The Village
Each athlete will be assigned a "pit area" inside our village. This pit area is where you will store belongings during the event and from where your crew will support you. The village is right off the main bike and run course and directly across from the beach - giving you easy access to your supplies / food and crew for all three disciplines. All food is served inside the village. You can expect to find a charging station towards the front of the race village near the aid station. Our Aid station will have water and electrolyte replacement drinks available, red bull, soda and a variety of sweet and salty snacks to munch on. We do not provide phone cords but will have power strips available for you to plug in and charge your devices.
You may bring your own chairs, coolers, food, equipment, pop up tents, etc.. We ask that there are no open flames inside your pit area. Please have adequate weights to hold down the tent in case we experience any type of wind, which is common for this race. You may bring your own lights and "camping" equipment, but keep in mind - you're not here to sleep - you're here to race!
Quiet hours in the village begin at 10pm. We will have music playing during the day and light music into the evening hours.
Restrooms are available inside the village area. Please see the athlete guide for complete details.
Night Hours:
Lights are required on the run and bike between the hours of 7:00pm and 7:00am. On the run, a headlamp or handheld flashlight must be worn at all times during the night hours. On the bike, a white headlight AND a red rear light are required at all times during the night hours. We will have a charging station available inside the village. However, we do Highly recommend you charge all your head and tail lights prior to arriving to the race site.
RACE FORMAT
The goal of this event is to log as many complete triathlons, duathlons, or single laps (for run, swim or bike only events) in the allotted time. You may choose to race as a solo athlete or as a relay team. Choose from either a 12 hour or 24 hour race.
You and or your team will be assigned a "pit area" inside the Village where you setup camp for the duration of the event. This is where you sleep, eat, store your gear, etc.. - your home away from home.
You are not required to change disciplines in between each leg of the event. For example, you may bike 10 laps in a row, then swim 5 and then run 8. You can complete laps of any discipline in any order. Teams are not required to change athletes after each leg. For example, team member A can run 5 loops in a row, then bike 3 before handing off to team member B. However, teams may only have one athlete circulating the course at a time and must switch between team members inside the transition area.
Course DetailS
Swim Course:Â 0.25 mile open water loop
The swim takes place in a beautiful section of Oak Mountain State Park. The water here is great for swimming and sees a water temp of around 68 - 72 degrees at this time of year. The area you will be swimming is considered a shallow body of water with water depths no greater than 8 to 9 feet across the swim course.

Bike Course: 10.50Â mile open road loop
The bike segment boasts some butter smooth roads inside the park with wide shoulders on both sides. The route curves through the park and you'll be surrounded by towering pines the entire time. This is an outrageous and back route so you'll have plenty of company out there on course as you get to know your fellow racers. The course has a few climbs as well as a few fun descents (being it an out and back). This park is one of the best local training grounds for area cyclists & we get to enjoy the beautiful route for 24 straight hours! What more could you want! The park closes at night so there will be little to no vehicle traffic into the evening hours. It is HIGHLY recommended you practice some night riding before making your way to the event.
Run Course:Â 2.00Â loop (half smooth trail / half road)
The run is unique, just like this entire event. We start by running a short section of smooth, easy trail along the shore of the lake. After the turnaround, you'll run through the pit area and find yourself back on the roads and running again along the edge of the water. There is small elevation gain in the route, but it is considered a fast run course.
